A new kind of love story...kind of

I like reading, OK I love reading! I love going to Pita Jungle and reading a good book while eating hummus with chicken.

The Last book I finished reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. It takes the classic book by Ms. Austen and puts a twist on it.

There is the first line: "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains" The story follows the plot of Pride and Prejudice, but places the novel in an alternative universe version of Regency-era England where zombies roam the English countryside. Elizabeth Bennet and her four sisters live on a countryside estate with their parents. Mr. Bennet guides his daughters in martial arts and weapons training, molding them into a fearsome zombie-fighting army; meanwhile, Mrs. Bennet endeavours to marry the girls off to wealthy suitors. When the wealthy and single Mr. Bingley purchases a nearby house, Mrs. Bennet spies an opportunity and sends the girls to the first ball where Bingley is expected to appear. The girls defend the party from a zombie attack, and attraction sparks between Mr. Bingley and the eldest daughter Jane Bennet. Elizabeth, however, clashes with Bingley's friend, the haughty monster-hunter Fitzwilliam Darcy.....and we all know the rest of the story, well kind of. The book basically ends the same as Ms. A's but with a slightly morbid turn.

This picture is of the four sisters fighting
off the Zombies at the first ball
of the novel in which they meet Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy

It is a good short-ish read. Even my 23 yr old brother said he might want to read about it when I told him the plot. What do you think Jane Austen would say about this book?
